Pros and cons of Expense Tool app for iPhone and iPad

Expense Tool app good for

Works great to keep track of household expenses - now I can easily see how much we are spending on groceries and other household expenses, and who paid for what.
Great app, just what I needed to organise my daily expenses at home. Today I emailed the developer, a very kind person who answered my doubts. It is worth the money!
Five stars when it will be possible to sinc by icloud and to have graphic reports. However nice to have.

Some bad moments

Very disappointed, not user friendly, useless, I has free apps that were more productive. Just to try set up expenses, became a head ache,
App is not user-friendly. Needs so much work to approve this app. Not at all what I was expecting.. Dont buy
This app does everything it says it will. Enter an event and start entering your expenses. Each expense needs at least a person, a name & an amount. At the end it gives a summary containing all expenses by person & total, and even lists who owes who how much money. AMAZING for any group who shares expenses. A couple UI quirks, otherwise would be a hard 5.
The new update works incredibly well and an improvement on a program that I have used and loved for >2years. Recently I had a problem because my data file was so large and the programmers responded to my emails until they fixed the problem. All this for 2 bucks! This program has replaced all my paper and antiquated systems for tracking expenses. It has saved me thousands of hours and tend of thousands of dollars at tax time.
I wanted to be able to have our respective iOS devices track and sync our shared expenses. This is one of the functions listed in the App Store description. However, the app fails in two areas: it does NOT synchronize data via the cloud: the devices must be on the same wifi network in order to synchronize. This makes the app unusable for us. Additionally, while it tells you who owes who what, it does not have a settle-up feature that other apps have. Again, thats basic to the purpose of the app and the lack of this feature makes it unusable. The App seems well written otherwise, so if you are not sharing data and you do not need to settle up, this app may work for you. However, if you want to sync, share, and settle-up, this app misses the mark.
My wife and I use this app mainly for recording daily expenses. This app does what it says it does. We can sync data between our two iphones via bluetooth or wi-fi with no problem. This app does not sync data over internet as it says. I think this is a feature for security reasons and for operation cost reasons. I have no problem with that. I hope some improvements could be done. 1. I sometimes received refund, giftcard and small items that are considered as income. I hope this app allows negative numbers as income. This will make total summary correct with income and expense cancelling out each other. 2. When I view the summary I hope different persons entry can have different background color so I do not have to note peoples name. Different background color can also make it possible to sort entries in list view in different ways while you can still easily keep visual track of who paid for what. The color could be automatically assigned or user selected.
